The American president’s Boeing 747 landed on the tarmac at Orly airport. Joe Biden is in France from Wednesday June 5 for a historic visit. After exchanging a warm handshake with Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, who welcomed him as he exited the plane, his convoy, escorted by the police, crossed Paris. Several roads were closed to ensure safety, causing numerous traffic jams in the capital.
In Normandy, the public is already waiting for the American head of state, although it will be difficult to approach him. “We already asked the security agents the question earlier, they told us ‘no, everything will be blocked, there’s no point in coming’”deplores a local resident, who nevertheless intends to try her luck. “It’s extremely important that he shows himself here”, says a spectator.
