New York Islanders forward Ross Johnston has secured his medium-term financial future as he signed a new four-year deal on Tuesday.

According to the daily New York Post, the 27-year-old winger earned an annual salary of $ 1.1 million.

Johnston has 87 meetings of experience in the National Hockey League. In those, he had seven goals and eight assists for 15 points.

The Prince Edward Island native is a former Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He wore the colors of the Moncton Wildcats, the Victoriaville Tigres and the Charlottetown Islanders.

Never drafted, Johnston was hired as a free agent by the Big Apple club in March 2015.
