The start of the 2022 school year could be tense due to the lack of teachers. More than 10,000 positions are to be filled in primary education, and 14,000 in secondary education. National Education organizes job dating operations throughout France.

Everywhere in France for a month, they are hundreds of aspiring teachers to try their luck. They have 15 minutes to convince, and hope to teach at the start of the next school year. Faced with the lack of teachers, the National Education is recruiting in a hurry, the profiles of the candidates are thus diverse. We find in particular a former mechanic, who seeks “a new way”.

In Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), 130 German teachers are missing. The first selection is based on language knowledge. All subjects combined, throughout the territory, thousands of positions could be vacant at the start of the school year. The mode of recruitment, without training, worries the unions. “Teaching is learned. You have to be trained to teach. And job dating is not that at all, the people who will be recruited will be put in the classes like that”asserts Geraldine Delay, departmental secretary of the FSU 67.
