(San Antonio) JJ Spaun shot 69 to win the Texas Open by two strokes on Sunday, earning a win that also earned him a berth in Augusta.

He triumphed for the first time at the PGA, at his 147and tournament.
His previous best result was second place at the RSM Classic in 2018.
Spaun overcame a double bogey on his first hole, heading for a 275 total, or 13 under par.
As of the second hole, he had five birdies and was bogey-free.
The 31-year-old finished his day with four pars in a row.
Spaun prevailed by two shots ahead of Matt Kuchar (69) and Matt Jones (66).
Canadian Adam Hadwin (67), Beau Hossler (72), Charles Howell III (69) and Troy Merritt (69) finished at 10 minus.
Hadwin got eight birdies.
A double bogey on the first hole of a final round and still win, we hadn’t seen that since 2008 (Tiger Woods, at the United States Open).
Canada was also represented by Corey Conners (67 for 283) and Roger Sloan (72 for 286). Conners brought back his best card of the competition.
