The Blues had taken an early 2-0 lead early in the third period, but Morrissey pulled one back 40 seconds later.
Scheifele and Morrissey then scored twice in 21 seconds midway through the period. Scheifele completed it all with his 31e of the season in an empty net with less than a minute to play.
Several scoring opportunities were missed by both teams in the first half. The Jets failed to take advantage of a four-minute power play when Alexandrov was sent off for high batting on Connor. The Jets only got one shot on Binnington in those four minutes.
The hosts also had two good chances to score in the last six minutes of the first period, but Binnington stretched to make the save on Pierre-Luc Dubois, before stopping Saku Maenalanen’s shot with a glove.
The Jets outshot 19-7 in the second period but were goalless in six power-play opportunities in 40 minutes.
