Jets beat Stars in shootout

(Winnipeg) Mark Scheifele hit the key shootout goal on his return after an absence due to pandemic protocols on Tuesday, sealing the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 win over the Dallas Stars.



Paul Stastny, Josh Morrissey and Pierre-Luc Dubois scored in regular time for Winnipeg.

Kyle Connor also hit the shootout, while Eric Comrie made 24 saves.

Jamie Benn, Jason Robertson and Tyler Seguin fought back on the side of the Stars, who lost a fourth game in a row.

Joe Pavelski scored in the shootout and Braden Holtby stopped 33 shots.

Connor Hellebuyck missed the game to be alongside his wife, who gave birth to a boy on Tuesday morning.

The Comrie reservist was Mikhail Berdin, recalled from the Manitoba Moose, American League.

The Stars will play in Calgary on Thursday.

The Jets turn their attention to the Blackhawks, who will be their visitors on Friday.
