It is a very special birthday day that is living Jerome Boateng today. The German footballer is celebrating his 34th birthday, but there is little chance that he will really celebrate the news as the last few weeks have been complicated for him. If on the ground things are improving since he has regained a starting position since the recent arrival of Laurent Blanc in Lyon, outside he has just experienced complicated days. He had to travel to Munich, Germany, to attend the appeal trial for domestic violence brought by his former partner for facts that date back to a vacation in the Caribbean in 2018.
The Munich District Court sentenced the player to a fine of 1.2 million euros, but without a prison sentence. Jérôme Boateng left the scene without any comment, but we imagine that he was not particularly happy with the outcome of the trial. Especially since another particularly sinister case resurfaced a few weeks ago concerning him. German media corrective and Suddeutsche Zeitung returned to the suicide of his former companion, Kasia Lenhardt and some elements of the investigation evoke the complicated relationship between the German world champion and the Polish model who killed himself at just 25 years old.
A confidentiality agreement at the center of the case?
According to documents obtained by our colleagues, the young woman confided in her mother, two weeks before her suicide in February 2021. Kasia Lenhardt reportedly signs non-disclosure deal under pressure from playerforcing him to “keep absolute silence” about their relationship. She also had to erase all material and digital elements related to their history. According to our colleagues, a violent argument would have opposed the two former lovers on this subject, the model not wishing to sign this contract. Jérôme Boateng would then have hit the young woman in the face before she ends up signing the documents.
Kasia Lenhardt’s relatives said thatshe felt threatened with death shortly before his suicide, according to German media reports. The latter having signed this confidentiality contract, she could not therefore respond to the interview made by the footballer on February 2, 2021 in which he accuses her of blackmail and reveals that she has alcohol problems. Charges refuted by the lawyer of the Lenhardt family.
An investigation has been opened by the Munich public prosecutor’s office and for the time being, the player and his lawyers have not commented on this case.
