Mme Roach, 23, a law school tutor, won her 12thand consecutive victory on the television quiz show.

She is tied for ninth with Austin Rogers and Seth Wilson, who answered Alex Trebek’s questions in 2017 and 2016 respectively.

The champ of Jeopardy! Game show-turned-host Ken Jennings tops that list, having won 74 straight games in 2004. Amy Schneider ranks second, following a 40-game winning streak earlier this year.

Mattea Roach lives in Toronto but is originally from Halifax — a clarification her parents urged her to make.

She recalled on air during the show that she spent her childhood and part of her teenage years in Halifax, but also lived in Calgary and Moncton, New Brunswick.
