Time for football for Jenni Hermoso. Under the spotlight despite herself since Spain’s victory at the Women’s Football World Cup (August 20, against England), the Spanish player will finally return to the selection. Absent during Spain’s last two gatherings, following the sexual assault by Luis Rubiales of which she was a victim, Jenni Hermoso was called up by the new coach, Montse Tomé.
The latter, former assistant to coach Jorge Vilda against whom Hermoso and her teammates were in conflict, had initially left Jenni Hermoso aside for “protect her”. “Protect me from what?”replied the player on her networks.
At 33, and after resuming competition in her club Pachuca in Mexico, Jenni Hermoso is making her return for two Nations League matches against Switzerland (October 27) and Italy (October 30). His return to the selection comes a week after his testimony in court.
