In 2001, Star Academy made its debut on TF1, before becoming a cult show on the channel. The viewers were all obsessed with the idea of knowing the big winner among all these residents of the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys, who all aspired to become great stars of song. And it was finally Jenifer who won the very first season of the program, later becoming a reference in the French variety thanks to pipes like Under the sun and my revolution.
Between her multiple distinctions (eight times winner at the NRJ Music Award and once at the MTV Europe Music Awards) and her numerous gold records, the mother of three boys quickly conquered the French. In particular, she has eight studio albums (a new one is expected next November) to her credit, a live album and 27 singles, 12 of which have managed to rank in the top 10 in France, including 2 with the Star Academy. This show has therefore contributed enormously to its success and notoriety.
“They really encouraged me”
But perhaps all of this would not have been possible without the support of Alexandra, Caroline Ithurbide’s sister. The latter received Jennifer this Friday, September 8 on the airwaves of RFM and shared with the listeners a surprising anecdote on this subject. “20 years ago, you had lots of odd jobs, and in particular you worked in a press agency, and you were the assistant… to my sister… Alexandra Ithurbide who told us that she adored her assistant, that you were funny, very cute, and that you dreamed of singing, and that you were very afraid to sign up for Star Ac and it was Alex who told you ‘ but let’s go” she revealed.
Jenifer, who is married to Ambroise Fieschi, then remembered the immense support of her colleagues, including that of the sister of the facilitator. “They really influenced me, encouraged me (…) JI was afraid of falling into something that didn’t suit me (…) Hfortunately i had these girls around me at that time of my life otherwise I don’t think I would have applied for the Star Ac casting.“, confided the ex-girlfriend of Maxim Nucci. The path traveled since then is phenomenal!
