Thieves stole computers from the offices of financier Jeffrey Epstein’s former PR guru, a day before documents relating to celebrities who visited his island were revealed.
Michael Sitrick said the offices of his public relations firm were broken into on January 2, but denied any connection between the event and the unveiling of the infamous list revealed this week, the New YorkPost.
Mr. Sitrick began working with Mr. Epstein in 2011, before ceasing all activity with his client in 2014, a year before his firm sued the financier for more than US$71,000 (C$95,000) in invoices unpaid, and which have since been reimbursed.
“There cannot be a correlation link because it makes no sense,” he insisted.
Mr. Sitrick confirmed that the thieves only took computers that had been used by employees for accounts payable, noting that offices of other companies were also visited.
Neither his office nor that of his assistant, however, would have been targeted.
“If the thieves were looking for something to do with Epstein or anyone else, how can anyone explain that my office wasn’t broken into?” he asked, specifying that no document in his office concerned the alleged and deceased pedophile.
