Artists from mother to daughter, but each in her own field! Far from the recording studios, Victoria, the eldest of Jeanne Mas, was first a production assistant, scriptwriter and set photographer in the film industry… before becoming the accomplished author that she is. His first novel, an account of the confinement at the Salpêtrière of a young woman who claimed to see spirits, entitled Crazy ball, had been awarded a Stanislas Prize and a Première Plume Prize in 2019, the year of its publication. Here she is back, in bookstores, with A miraclethe story of an orphan who claims to have seen the Virgin.
The mystical aspect of his stories is not the only thing that surprises his readers. When his first book came out, few knew of his existence. “I had always been very discreet, she recalls in the columns of the magazine Paris Match. So we were surprised that suddenly the daughter of Jeanne Mas was revealed.. Victoria is not the only child of the interpreter of the title In red and black. If we don’t know a lot about the singer’s private life, we do know that Christopher, her youngest son, was born in 1992 and that he is a sound engineer for the seventh art.
We don’t do the same job
For her part, Jeanne Mas did not have a good relationship with her parents. Their lack of connection had even pushed her to attempt suicide. This is why she did not wish to repeat this catastrophic pattern with her own children. However, being called Victoria Mas has never been a particular advantage, in terms of popularity, for the novelist … except that she is constantly forced to mention her famous mother in an interview. “It doesn’t bother meshe explained, however, on the set of the show We are not in bed.
