The CAQ filed a complaint with the Ethics Commissioner against MP Pascal Bérubé, because he used his National Assembly email address to solicit help from PQ sympathizers in Jean-Talon.
In a letter sent Tuesday to Commissioner Ariane Mignolet, the CAQ member for Blainville and president of the government caucus, Mario Laframboise, argues that Mr. Bérubé would have contravened article 36 of the code of ethics for deputies by using his email address as a member of parliament for partisan purposes.

In his email, sent last Friday evening, the PQ MP for Matane–Matapédia immediately specifies to his recipients that “your name is in our list of members of the Parti Québécois in the riding of Jean-Talon”.
He then asks them to “lend a hand” to help elect their candidate, Pascal Paradis.

“It’s ridiculous,” reacted Mr. Bérubé, a member of parliament since 2007, who says he only has one email address.
