A man suspected of attacking the father of comedian Alexandre Champagne at the Jean-Talon metro station was arrested Friday, confirms the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).
The suspect, a 42-year-old man known to the police, was arrested Friday morning and could appear the same day or the next morning, the SPVM indicated Friday noon, without providing further details.
Comedian Alexandre Champagne indicated on social networks on Sunday that his father had been the victim of a violent attack at the Jean-Talon metro station,
His father was waiting on the platform, in broad daylight, when he was attacked by two “visibly intoxicated” men, Alexandre Champagne told The Press.
This story “gives shivers down the spine”, admitted the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, at a press conference on Monday.
