The family of Jean-Pierre Ferland, who died last Saturday, agreed that the singer with a colossal legacy should have a state funeral.
This was confirmed on Monday by the agency representing the deceased. The Prime Minister of Quebec, François Legault, announced on Sunday his intention to propose a national funeral for a “great builder of Quebec song”.
“Even if Jean-Pierre Ferland has left us, his work will always remain in our memories. Mr. Ferland, on behalf of the Quebec nation, farewell and thank you for everything,” Mr. Legault then declared.
More details to come.
