April is a very important month for the Belmondos. As Alessandro Belmondo recalls, his illustrious late grandfather – who died last September at the age of 88 – was himself born this month, on April 9 precisely. “In the Belmondo family, we have quite a few birthdays in April. My grandfather was born on April 9 and my father on April 23: our son is due between the two. I think that’s a very nice sign.“, confides the young chef, head of the curd located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.
The son of Paul and Luana Belmondo dreamed of sharing the news of the arrival of his first child with his grandfather but he did not have time. “As a precaution, we respected the famous rule of three months, he confides. My grandfather was already in too poor health for me to talk to him about it in person. After his disappearance, I went to meditate on his deathbed and that’s where I told him he was going to be a great-grandfather. I know he is very proud of us“, shares Alessandro Belmondo.
