This Saturday, February 5, 2022, Matthieu Delormeau hosted on C8, a new issue of the show TPMP People, dedicated to the private lives of stars. For the occasion, Pascal Fontaine, Fiona Deshayes, Laurent Hanouna (cousin of Cyril Hanouna) but also Jean-Michel Maire had answered the call. During the broadcast, the issue of columnist salaries was raised.
Always very frank and honest, Jean-Michel Maire revealed that he earned a three-figure salary for his simple presence on the set and admitted that this remuneration was far too high: “I do nothing, I don’t work but I am very well paid. It’s shameful what I earn!” he launched. When Matthieu Delormeau tried to find out the exact amount, Jean-Michel Maire then replied: “For this show, I don’t know, I didn’t negotiate… But I’m going to ask 800 euros. 800 euros to do that is half the minimum wage, it’s shameful!”. And the columnist adds: “800 gross to do the show. I obviously benefit from it but if someone tells me that what I earn is shameful, I will tell them that I completely agree.”.
Launched on the subject of the salaries of animators and columnists, Matthieu Delormeau then balanced the salary of Karine Le Marchand: “She said she took 35,000 euros a month on M6 saying it was a shame. Ben gives it to an association then!”. What Jean-Michel Maire replied: “Ah well no, I don’t agree… I said it was shameful, I didn’t say I was stupid!”.
