Jean-Michel Jarre launches the final show and electrifies the Stade de France

The French pope of electro played the song “Les Mots bleus” by Christophe then got the audience dancing to a medley of his most famous songs.

Jean-Michel Jarre launched the final show of the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games on Sunday, September 8. At the Stade de France, after the athletes’ parade and the extinguishing of the flame by Paralympic champion Aurélie Aubert, the 76-year-old composer launched the final sequence of this ceremony, a show hosted by 24 artists. He notably electrified the 65,000 spectators by playing the song The Blue Words by Christophe, for which he wrote the lyrics. He then got the audience dancing to a medley of his most famous songs.

The final show continued with many big names of the “French Touch”, including Kavinsky – already present at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games – Cassius or even DJ Falcon. This sequence was accompanied by a light show, the stadium transforming into a disco. The idea was to respond to the famous title of a book by Ernest Hemingway: “Paris is a party.”
