As a new teachers’ strike looms on Thursday, the education minister finds himself more than ever under fire from critics. Indeed, the minister was on the weekend in Ibiza the day before the start of the school year in January and would have unveiled the new health protocol from the Balearic island.
In the midst of the fog on the health protocol at school, the Minister of Education, Jean-Michel bank, was on vacation in Ibiza, the islands Balearics. “I should have chosen another place, the symbolism I regret”, expressed the minister. On January 1, 2022, the latter indeed unveiled the new health protocol to be observed in schools from Ibiza, known for its sense of celebration. Upon his return, the protocol, deemed too complicated, was challenged, which led to a black Thursday, a teachers’ strike.
The left is calling for his resignation. But the presidential elections are approaching and could thus save his place, because according to a government colleague, “we do not let go of a minister three months before the presidential election”. Jeans castex thus renewed its support for its minister.
