There will have been no match between Lyonnais and Marseillais on Sunday, November 21. The meeting was postponed, when it was interrupted after a few minutes of play, and incidents in the stands.

Asked at the microphone of the broadcaster Prime Video, the president of Olympique Lyonnais Jean-Michel Aulas delivered his version of the almost two hours that separated the incidents from the final decision.

He criticizes in particular the turnaround and the decision to interrupt the match definitively, even though the resumption was announced shortly after 10 p.m. “OL’s security services reacted straight away, the individual was arrested, we had imagined that the match could resume, and the referee had decided to resume”, he revealed. “And then when he came back to announce it to the players, there was a violent reaction from Marseille. Ruddy Buquet asked to see the prefect again, and reversed the decision.”

For the Lyon president, the meeting could resume without a security problem: “As the author acted independently, that he was arrested, it was thought that we could react and resume […] Safety was completely assured. ” However, sf the author was arrested, he was not the only one to throw objects towards Dimitri Payet, since the n ° 10 had waited long seconds before being able to shoot the corner facing the hail of projectiles.

If he approves the decision to suspend the game at the time of the incidents, to “protect the players”, Jean-Michel Aulas regrets that we dangled the specter of a recovery from his players and his audience: “The referee made his decision with his soul and conscience. It is not for us to judge whether it is good or bad.”
