On Wednesday April 6, Jean-Luc Mélenchon was received by the 20 hours of France 2. The candidate of La France insoumise was questioned, among other things, on his position in relation to the war in Ukraine.

Guest from 20 hours of France 2, Jean-Luc Mélenchon was first questioned about his way of overcoming the veto Russian to the UN Security Council, he who wants to send blue helmets to secure the nuclear power plants in Ukraine. The candidate of La France insoumise invoked the UN statutes which prohibit a country from voting on a decision concerning a conflict in which it is engaged.

In addition, Jean-Luc Mélenchon indicated that it was not possible, thereafter, to “pursue personal relations with a man like Mr. Putin who bears personal responsibility for war crimes”. However, he wants to prevent France from becoming a “co-belligerent” on Ukrainian soil. Moreover, Jean-Luc Mélenchon reaffirmed his desire for France to be a non-aligned country.
