Jean-Luc Mélenchon assures that the candidates of La France Insoumise will withdraw in the event of a three-way race favorable to the National Rally, if LFI comes in third place.
“A massive vote foiled the trap that was set for the country.” Jean-Luc Mélenchon greeted “a heavy and indisputable defeat” inflicted on the presidential camp, at the end of the first round of early legislative elections, during a speech on Sunday June 30.
“The country must choose” between “aggravate the worst of its divisions” with the National Assembly or “come together to form one people” with the New Popular Front, asserts Jean-Luc Mélenchon. He calls for giving an absolute majority to the left alliance which obtained 28.1% of the votes in the first round, according to our Ipsos-Talan estimate.
The founder of LFI also assured that the party “will withdraw” her candidacies in the constituencies where she came in third position and where the National Rally (RN) is in the lead for the second round. And this “in all circumstances, wherever and in whatever case. Our instructions are simple, direct and clear. Not one vote, not one more seat for the RN”ensures the figure on the left.
