Guest of France Inter Saturday December 2, Jean-Luc Mélenchon explains feeling “an immense disgust” the day after the rally at the call of the ultra-right at the Pantheon in Paris in memory of the young Thomas killed leaving a party in the Drôme. “I see it as the signal of an era, the trivialization of the far right has obviously favored its extremization and here we are at this type of demonstration”believes the leader of La France insoumise.

This ultra-right rally, which brought together hundreds of people, was authorized at the last minute on Friday by the Paris administrative court. Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said he “scandalized” by this manifestation.

A “trivialization of the extreme right”

“How is it that there are organizations in our country that can attack people, that can publicly act out racism, that can give Nazi salutes and the rest? We know who these people are It is”questions Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

During this gathering was notably present the group The Natives, former Identity Generation. For the LFI leader, it is about“a reconstitution of a dissolved league, Mr. Darmanin did nothing, the Génération Identitaire group was dissolved and it was reconstituted”.

According to him, among the Rebels, “There are ten of us living under threat of death”he says because of “the trivialization of the extreme right”.
