Like a feeling of deja vu. In 2017, in the last week of the campaign, Jean-Luc Mélenchon held seven simultaneous meetings, thanks to this hologram technique. Five years later, the hologram returns in an XXL version. Three weeks of preparation, 200 technicians and a full day of assembly were necessary to set up not seven, but twelve simultaneous meetings, Tuesday April 5th. “It was never done”, proclaim the rebellious. Physically, Jean-Luc Mélenchon will be in Lille. And his virtual clones on stage in eleven cities, including Pau, Albertville, Montluçon, Metz, or Le Havre.

Qpopular neighborhoods, rural and urban territories… The idea, summarized by Bastien Lachaud, head of events for the Mélenchon campaign, is “a meeting less than 250 kilometers from each Frenchman.” The team relies heavily on the spectacular side of the hologram to arouse the curiosity of voters who are late in starting to take an interest in the campaign. And whose choice will be fixed in the very last hours.

Around Jean-Luc Mélenchon, we remain marked by these 618,540 votes which were missed in 2017 to qualify against Emmanuel Macron. “We are in the same dynamic, without the communists”analyzes a close friend of Mélenchon, way of saying that this time, there is still room for maneuver.

All forces will be thrown into battle by Friday. 91 public meetings are organized by supporters in the coming days. And the last day of the campaign will be devoted to door-to-door actions to pick up voters at home.
