First French actor to receive an Oscar for his silent role in “The Artist” directed by his sidekick Michel Hazanavicius, with whom he had collaborated twice in the wise “OSS 117”, Jean Dujardin is today a real movie star French. Like his own idols, Lino Ventura or Jean-Paul Belmondo. But also internationally. Invited on the set of “50 minutes Inside” this Saturday, October 8, the actor returned to his career under the leadership of Nikos Aliagas and confided in his personal life. Because if the golden trophy has definitely changed his professional destiny, at home, on the other hand… the 50-year-old actor is not a star at all! He admits that his two sons and two daughters “they don’t care at all!” of the statuette collected in Hollywood. And to tell, smiling, an anecdote: “I had put it for them on the breakfast table and I had said to them: So, what do we say?” And the actor’s children to answer: “We are hungry !”
“What is this big crazy thing?”
In this intimate interview, Jean Dujardin also returned to his feelings at the time, when he received the Oscar. He felt a kind of schizophrenia: “I don’t feel like it’s me,” he said. “I’m like, ‘What the hell is this noise? What is this big crazy thing? I participated in this, me? I did all that?”. Surely a way to keep his feet on the ground… and a cool head, as his children will not fail to remind him! Currently starring in “Novembre” by Cédric Jimenez, the actor receives many congratulations, in particular from his own wife Nathalie Péchalat, as can be read on his Instagram account: “One of the darkest pages of our history, seen from the inside… The strength of the collective! From the screenplay to the myriad of actors, including the production and the soundtrack… Implacable !” enthused the former figure skating champion. And we will also find Jean Dujardin in 2023, in “Alphonse”, a series currently being filmed and directed by Nicolas Bedos which will be broadcast on the Amazon Prime Video platform. A real star… that’s for sure!
