Jean Dujardin is the voice that accompaniesGuardians of the Planet. A feature film with incredible images on whales, these people of the oceans increasingly threatened by the negative impacts of human activities. At the cinema on February 22, 2023, this documentary by Jean-Albert Lièvre, is above all intended to be poetic, preventive and even educational, for the attention of young and future generations. For the preview in Béziers on Wednesday January 25, the star narrator came for a whole day with the film crew to accompany the NGO Project Rescue Ocean for a beach cleaning operation, on the natural site of Orpellières. For this awareness campaign, they were also accompanied by about fifty children. Results: more than 100 kilos of litter collected!
“We are not going to claim victory but we have to take new reflexes”
To our colleagues from Midi-Freethe Oscar-winning actor confided his ecological motivation: “It’s hopeless to find so many cans, plastics and waste, commented actor Jean Dujardin after the awareness campaign. It’s also heartbreaking what it says about us, and I include myself in it. I have the impression that the new generations are asking the right questions. We are not going to claim victory but we have to take new reflexes. The work done by Benoît’s association(Schumann, the Biterrois founder of Project Rescue Ocean, editor’s note)is great. We have to correct the situation, it seems obvious but it is not yet.“At 50, this father of four children is therefore concerned about the current state of the planet. He nevertheless adds with the humor that characterizes him in front of the 400 people present at the Béziers cinema: “It was my first whale role (…) I learned things. It allows you to gain height without giving a lesson. Finally, this planet is bluer than earth. And it’s a calming, interesting and a bit militant moment”The interpreter of OSS therefore launches an SOS… and it is to be hoped that his voice will carry far.
To see also: “He saw Guillaume Canet and me pass in front of him!”, Jean Dujardin very cash on the small roles of Gilles Lellouche!
