This is an unusual situation! Jean-Claude Dreyfus is in a relationship with Nicolas, a guitarist met via his website thirteen years ago but, in the eyes of the law, he is above all a married man… to a woman. Indeed, he married a friend of his, now 90 years old.
It’s in the pages of the magazine Paris here that Jean-Claude Dreyfus (All the mornings of the world, Two brothers, A long engagement Sunday…) unveiled behind the scenes of this rather comical love life. Installed in his house in Ventenac (Aude) for two years now, he shares his daily life there with Nicolas, a musician who had requested him via his website. “I understood that he harbored a certain fascination with me. As he was not too ugly and rather presentable, I told him to come and see me in Paris (…) And he never left“, he confides. His companion then leaves his city, he who lived in Mulhouse, and begins to collaborate with him while living a story of the heart. “At that time, I was free, ready to live a beautiful love story“, adds the actor.
But did Nicolas know then that his companion was officially married? Because yes, Jean-Claude Dreyfus is united by the bonds of marriage to Monique, now aged 90. “I met her when I was 17 (…) I married her when she fell ill twenty years ago. She had cancer and needed help. Today she is still alive and I love her very much. And we’re still married“, specifies the actor. Jean-Claude Dreyfus assures that becoming “bigamist [lui] wouldn’t be a problem” but, in France, it is obviously impossible. So, if one day he wants to be able to unite with Nicolas, he must wait but there is no hurry: “As long as she’s alive, and I don’t want her to die right away, I can’t marry Nicolas.“
