“To slow down the Omicron variant” which is fueling the considerable rise in Covid-19 contamination, with the specter of “250,000 cases per day by the beginning of January”, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced Monday, December 27 the return of the gauges, set at 2,000 people maximum indoors and 5,000 outdoors.

These measures, adopted a few minutes earlier in the Council of Ministers, will apply “from Monday for a period of three weeks”, including in sports arenas. “Standing concerts will be prohibited, the consumption of food and drink will be prohibited in all cinemas, theaters, sports facilities and public transport, including long distance”, said the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran.
