And four! Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) once again showed that he was the king of the sprint on this Tour 2023, Wednesday July 12, in Moulins on the occasion of the 11th stage of the Tour de France, ahead of Dylan Groenewegen (Team Jayco AlUla) and Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious). The first Frenchman, Bryan Coquard (Cofidis) finished at the foot of the podium. Not at all worried, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) keeps his yellow jersey.

A quiet day for the peloton

It wasn’t a rest day, but it looked very much like one. In the aftermath of a very intense hilly stage, in heavy heat, the bodies needed to recover, in anticipation of this weekend’s alpine triptych. After four days in Puy-de-Dôme, there were only three of them to come and play scouts.

Leaving from the first kilometers, Matis Louvel (Arkéa-Samsic) and Andrey Amador (EF Education-EasyPost) gave up 50 kilometers from the finish, leaving their breakaway companion Daniel Oss (TotalEnergies) alone in the lead, moreover. voted the most combative runner of the day.

Green jersey on the back, synonymous with the best sprinter, Jasper Philispen honored his rank in the best possible way by winning the 11th stage of the Tour de France 2023.

As the rain appeared and cooled the organisms, the sprinter teams set off. And for once, the Alpecin-Deceuninck team did not respond. Without his luxury pilot fish Mathieu van der Poel, left behind in the last kilometers, Jasper Philipsen had to fend for himself this time.

But with a gauge of confidence in the green, the Belgian sprinter still disgusted these opponents. Hidden behind Dylan Groenewegen, until the last 200 meters, Jasper Philipsen emerged to make his power speak and raise his arms for the fourth time in this 110th edition. While there are still two or even three stages left for the fastest in the peloton, he could thus join Mark Cavendish and his six successes in the 2009 Tour.
