Jason Spezza retires

After 19 seasons in the NHL, Jason Spezza is hanging up his skates. The Toronto Maple Leafs made the announcement on Sunday morning.

By the same token, he joins the staff of the club as a special adviser to general manager Kyle Dubas.

Jason Spezza joined the Leafs in 2019, after spending most of his career with the Ottawa Senators and then the Dallas Stars.

The native of the Canadian metropolis will therefore have played 1248 games in the Bettman circuit, scoring 363 goals and 632 assists, for a total of 995 points. He added 97 playoff games to it, in which he scored 28 goals and 48 assists.
