“I made the decision to stop presenting the show ‘Everyone wants to take their place’, which is a superb show where I spent an incredible year. I loved the exercise. I loved the teams and I thank France 2 again for this superb opportunity”. It was in a short video published on his Instagram account that Jarry announced his departure from the famous show initially presented by Nagui, then by Laurence Boccolini.
News which comes only one season after he took office and which quickly caused a lot of ink to be spilled on internal reasons. However, officially, the explanation lies elsewhere: “You know that next year, I will be on the Zénith tour, in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Canada. I will need a lot of energy” continues the host of Everyone wants to take their place, which will nevertheless remain on the air until the summer. A show, called Bonhomme, that he has been performing since November 16, 2023 and which will notably take place at the Olympia from October 24 to 27.
A dream come true
If Anthony Lambert, his real name, wishes to dedicate himself body and soul to the stage, he nevertheless confides, in a single sentence, that he also wants to spend more time with his little darlings: “I have seen very little of my children this year and so I decided to have all this energy for you, the public” he declares in his video message. Twins born in 2016, a boy and a girl whom they nickname Vic and Tim on social networks.
Internet users will not know more about his private life, nor the identity of his companion, as he seeks discretion. A life far from the cameras – he does not live in Paris, but on the Côte d’Azur – and which the comedian particularly cares about, given his complicated journey to becoming a father. Although he has spoken several times in the media about his difficulty in coming out – he even almost married a woman – Jarry had great difficulty realizing his dream of fatherhood.
After a long journey, his little ones were finally born, after resorting to a surrogacy in the United States in 2016. Since then, he has been a real father hen, as he confided in the columns of TV 7 days in December 2023: “I am a father who guarantees the educational framework […] very close to my children. It’s not because they’re mine, but I find them rather wise.” he said. Jarry will thus have plenty of time to devote himself to his family and his projects, even if, to the delight of his fans who already regret his departure, he does not rule out returning: “I’m not saying I won’t come back. My tour will stop in 2026 and then I’ll have another operation.” This is reassuring!
