Jarome Iginla returns home

Jarome Iginla is back with the Calgary Flames after the former team captain was named special advisor to general manager Craig Conroy on Thursday.

He was also very happy to have been able to convince his former teammate to join him in his new adventure.

“Jarome and I have always had the goal of working together one day. We even talked about it when we were playing. That day has finally arrived and I am happy to welcome him back to Calgary. Jarome is creative and intelligent. He has a lot of passion for hockey and wants to win the Stanley Cup,” Conroy said in a statement.

Iginla, now 45, is also happy to be back with the Flames.

“I am grateful to the owners who give me this chance. I look forward and want to support Conroy as GM in a more engaged role.”

The man who also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings has 1,300 points in 1,554 career games on the Bettman circuit.
