Nintendo’s Spotlight Shifts to Xbox
While last week Nintendo captured the gaming community’s attention with its Switch 2 announcement, this week it’s Xbox’s turn to shine. The green brand is gearing up for an exciting event this Thursday, January 23, where they will showcase three thrilling titles set to launch on Xbox Game Pass. Gamers can look forward to the captivating South of Midnight, the darkly enticing Doom The Dark Ages, and the highly anticipated French game Clair Obscur. Additionally, fans are buzzing with speculation about potential surprises, one of which may involve a “legendary” Japanese franchise. Although details remain under wraps, Microsoft is sticking to its planned schedule, recently unveiling the latest Xbox Game Pass titles for January 2025.
New Xbox Game Pass Titles for January 2025
January has historically been a quieter month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, often featuring fewer new releases due to the post-holiday season. However, this year, the American publisher is making a significant impact with the addition of Diablo in Game Pass for PC and Ultimate. This serves as a prelude to the highly awaited day one releases that have defined the service’s appeal. Among the new arrivals, we already knew about three titles aimed at enhancing the catalog: Eternal Strands, a project from seasoned BioWare veterans; Sniper Elite Resistance; and the sequel to the beloved indie game, Citizen Sleeper 2. With the full roster now revealed, here’s what gamers can expect in the coming weeks:

As always, these exciting new additions come with the inevitable farewell to a few titles. Unfortunately, some beloved indie games will soon depart, including the classic BroForce, the exceptional souls-like title Death Door, and the challenging RPG Darkest Dungeon. These games will exit Xbox Game Pass on January 31, 2025, along with the following:
- Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem
- Anuchard
- Darkest Dungeon
- Broforce
- Maquette
