The Italian Jannik Sinner signed a 20e victory in 2024 on Wednesday, reaching the semi-finals of the Miami Open by virtue of a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Czech Tomas Machac.
The recent Australian Open champion therefore reached the semi-finals for the third time in the four most recent editions of this tournament.
Sinner (third) will face in the semi-final the winner of the match between the Russian Daniil Medvedev (fourth) and the Chilean Nicolas Jarry (23e), who were to face each other in the evening.
Sinner will be playing in a fourth semi-final this season and has only suffered one defeat this season. He reached the final in Miami in 2021 and 2023, but lost each time.
“It was a really tough match, but I’m happy with my performance,” Sinner said.

Collins has also won her four meetings against Garcia on the WTA circuit. However, she qualified this immaculate record against the Frenchwoman.
“Against a player like Caro, it forces me to be more focused, because I know I don’t want to give her an inch,” Collins said.
In doubles, Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealander Erin Routliffe beat Americans Sloane Stephens and Ashlyn Krueger 6-3, 4-6 and 10-4.
The American Jessica Pegula (fifth) and the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (16e) face each other in the evening, with a ticket to the semi-final against Collins at stake.
