James Paxton agrees to one year, $11 million deal with Dodgers

(Los Angeles) Left-hander James Paxton of British Columbia has finalized a one-year, $11 million pact with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

His salary could increase to 13 million if he is in office from the start of the season and if he makes at least 20 starts.

During the current off-season, the Dodgers gave more than 1.2 billion to Paxton, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow and Teoscar Hernandez.

Paxton is originally from Ladner, south of Vancouver.

The 35-year-old veteran went 7-5 with a 4.50 ERA last year, playing with the Boston Red Sox.

He suffered a strained rear right thigh in training camp, not making his first start until May 12.

Bored in the right knee, he did not throw beyond the 1er september.

His globe record is 64-38 with a 3.69 ERA, in 156 starts in major league baseball.

Paxton also played with Seattle (2013-18, 2021) and the Yankees (2019-20). He earned 15 victories with New York in 2019.
