James Bond auction brings in $10.5 million

(London) Auctions dedicated to James Bond, where a replica of an Aston Martin was sold that was used for stunts, brought in 6.87 million pounds ($10.58 million), funds donated to associations, said Christie’s.

The result of these auctions, which ended on Wednesday, exceeds the total amount of previous James Bond charity sales organized by Christie’s, the auction house said.

All 61 lots, sold by EON Productions, the company that produces the James Bond films, found buyers during this sale celebrating sixty years of James Bond in the cinema.

The funds raised were intended for 45 associations, including the Prince Charles Foundation – before he became king with the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8 – the Red Cross, UNICEF, etc.

“This incredible result is testament to the enduring appeal of one of cinema’s greatest and most beloved icons, James Bond,” said Adrian Hume-Sayer, director at Christie’s.
