Jamel Debbouze and the Comédie-Française will compete for the Improv Culture & Diversity Trophy

The final of the 2022 edition of the Trophée d’Impro Culture & Diversité – this year around Molière on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s birth – will be held on June 24, in Paris. It will obviously be necessary to count on the participation of comedian Jamel Debbouze, loyal and involved sponsor of the event. But also on a major novelty…

Indeed, for the first time, a theatrical improvisation show at the Comédie-Française gathering on stage professional actors, comedian Jamel Debbouze – who was recently in Marrakech to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the comedy festival -, coaches and young improvising college students having practiced improv all year will be organized! An intergenerational meeting between actors from the mythical troupe of the Comédie-Française (Serge Bagdassarian, Benjamin Lavernhe and Séphora Pondi are particularly expected) and college students which promises to be a great moment of sharing and learning.

As a reminder, the Improv Culture & Diversity Trophy is a national artistic practice program around the theatrical improvisation match intended for students enrolled in priority education colleges and rural areas. Created in 2010 on the initiative of Jamel Debbouze and Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, under the artistic direction of Alain Degois, dit Papy, the Trophy takes place in five stages: 30 hours of workshops around the improv match, led by actors / professional directors throughout the year then the students then take part in theatrical improvisation matches in their college, in their city, then in the Regional Finals. Finally, a team from each region comes to Paris to represent its territory during the National Trophy Final, in a major Parisian theatre.

The Trophée d’Impro Culture & Diversité association, created on the initiative of the Culture & Diversity Foundation, is developing the Trophée d’Impro with the support of the ID Logistics and Casino groups.
