Roy and Tanguay formalized their decision Tuesday morning at the Videotron center.

“Winning the Memorial Cup was a defining moment. This victory was also a turning point in my thinking. There’s no better way to close the loop, and in life you have to know when to quit. Today, I leave with the feeling of accomplishment,” explained Patrick Roy.

“It’s been 26 years, I was 36 when I had the opportunity to join forces with Patrick and Michel Cadrin to relaunch Remparts. It has been a third of my life, a part of my life, to have had the pleasure of working with you and directing the Remparts. It was a privilege. I think it’s time to give way to younger people, to a new generation and a future president who will have the same pleasure as me and who will be able to bring the Remparts to the level that Patrick allowed me to achieve at the decades,” added Jacques Tanguay.
