Jacques and Gabriella “suffered” from the absence of their mother: Albert of Monaco gives news

After eight months of separation, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella finally reunited with their mother on November 8. A mixed reunion because Princess Charlene has not really found the palace, since she continues her convalescence outside the principality. In this difficult period, the two little blond heads of almost 7 years were fortunately able to count on the support of their father, Prince Albert.

In a new interview with Monaco-Morning, on the occasion of the Monegasque National Day of November 19, the 63-year-old prince returned to this complicated year on the family level. Despite his busy schedule as a sovereign, Albert of Monaco made sure to spend as much time as possible with his young children: “For me, it’s pretty simple: my priority is my family. Of course, without neglecting the affairs of the State (…). When I can be with my kids I do it without hesitation“, he comments.

Returned to South Africa in March 2021, for a rhino preservation mission, Princess Charlene was stranded in her home country due to a serious ENT infection which required several surgeries. The 43-year-old ex-swimmer would also suffer from other disorders for which a detoxification treatment would have been improvised on the spot … An interminable absence for her young children, who were only able to visit her twice, in June and August. “If one of the parents is away for medical reasons, the other parent must be there“, adds Prince Albert.
