Jacksonville Jaguars | A two-year contract for center Mitch Morse

The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to a two-year, $10.5 million contract with center Mitch Morse that includes a $7 million guaranteed portion, according to a person familiar with the negotiations who spoke with The Associated Press.

This person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Monday because the two sides have yet to confirm anything.

Morse, who turns 32 next month, was released by the Buffalo Bills last week after five seasons with them. He made the Pro Bowl in 2022, and started 126 games in the NFL over nine seasons, including the first four with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Since he was released, Morse did not have to wait until the free agent market opened to find a new team. He visited the Jaguars last weekend, and their general manager Trent Baalke immediately presented him with a contract offer.

Morse should improve the core of the Jaguars’ offensive front, which has been led so far by center Luke Fortner, a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft who struggled to contain the opposing team’s top tackles last season.
