La Zarra continues to make headlines! On May 13, 2023, the artist had the honor of representing France in the grand final of Eurovision. Ambitious, the young woman seemed certain to be one of the big favorites of the famous competition. Unfortunately, she only landed 16ᵉ in the rankings to her chagrin. In front of the cameras, the star did not hide her bitterness… In the eyes of some Internet users, the latter would have even given the middle finger. Gesture that La Zarra described as “toz”.
“It’s a gesture from me of disappointment which means “whatever” which could be translated as ‘so be it’. No more no less”, defended the Quebecer on her social networks. An answer which had the merit of calling Marie Myriam, the last French winner of the famous singing competition with the song L’Oiseau et l’enfant in 1977. “This gesture of La Zarra at the end of the evening because she did not win, it is really shocking”, lamented the widow of Michel Elmosnino in the columns of “Parisien” the day after his performance.
