This was reported by the Fonkanta.ru media on Friday afternoon.

Playing in the KHL since the 2014-2015 season, Fedotov is accused by the Russian authorities of wanting to avoid enlisting in the Russian army to cross to North America to join the Flyers.

He is currently being held by authorities from Vladimir Putin’s army.

According to Article 328 of the Russian Criminal Code, Fedotov could serve a two-year prison sentence for “escaping from military service”.

The goaltender, who won the Gagarin Cup last year with CSKA Moscow, indicated last April that he wanted to make the jump to the NHL.
