“It’s too easy to pay money, Nestlé must be condemned”, pleads Tuesday, April 18 at the microphone of France Bleu Nord the mother of a little boy contaminated with Buitoni pizzas. The Nestlé group, owner of the Buitoni brand, has pledged to compensate 63 victims of the scandal of pizzas contaminated with E.coli bacteria in March 2022. The cases of poisoning identified were mostly children, two of whom died .

A deal “amicable compensation” was signed on March 31, closing the civil part of the case. But in Pas-de-Calais, a mother of an infected little boy refuses this compensation. “It’s unfair to do this, giving money to families to pay for what happened is not right“, says the mother of the family.
She therefore prefers to wait for a trial and a real apology from Nestlé, which she believes is insufficient: “As a family of children, we would have liked to have an apology from Nestlé. We almost lost our son a year and a half ago. We tell ourselves that later he may have consequences, so no, it’s too easy to pay money”.
“For me, Nestlé should be condemned for what happened.”
