Double winner of the Super Bowl, “Big Ben” confirmed his intentions on his Twitter account. However, he had already left several hints of the outcome to come in the days leading up to his hometown’s last regular-season game, saying it could be his farewell to Heinz Field fans.
Roethlisberger thus spoke true, he who completed his career with a defeat against the Chiefs in Kansas City in the first round of playoffs.
“The time has come to clean out my locker, hang up my cleats and continue to be the best I can be for my wife and kids,” he said. I’m retiring from football and I’m a very grateful man.”
