Fanny Riedberger, already the successful author of the “Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec” series on disability, continues in the vein of “dramedy”, with “Les Randonneuses” which follows six women undergoing chemotherapy, who set off together to attack a peak. A series about inflated, funny and tender, broadcast on Mondays on TF1.
This is the new card from TF1, which attracted twice as many viewers on Monday May 15, as the series Hinny on France 2: The Hikersan inflated series, which manages to mix drama and humor, in this story of six women suffering from cancer, friends of chemotherapy, who decide to go hiking, to reach a summit of 4,000 meters.
So it’s first of all women with each one, their secrets, the shouting matches, especially when they find themselves with hikers of the opposite sex, and guides in all their caricatural splendor.
Impeccable cast
Over the course of the episodes, each is also revealed. With in particular, Alix Poisson, in the role of a deceived married woman, Clémentine Célarié, the oldest, and Camille Chamoux, a lesbian emergency doctor. She said yes without hesitation, to the series.
“The necessity of the subject which is never treated from the angle of comedy: six women – that too, by the way, it is part of what made me say yes – with cancer. They are funny , they are sexy, they are in prime time, on TF1. adds Camille Chamoux, I feel like I’m taking part in a major adventure. It’s very rare to do things that make so much sense. People don’t have a positive representation of women with cancer.”
We owe this series to Fanny Riedberger, who had already moved the general public with High school Toulouse Lautrec, a comedy on TF1, in a high school for students with disabilities. She immediately thought of a ‘drama’.
“‘Drama’ is to play with emotions, to be able to deal with substantive subjects, serious subjects, but with lightness and humor, stresses Fanny Riedberger. We try to play with the emotions of the spectators, to be able to laugh and cry all the time.”
The idea for this sad and funny ‘drama’ came to him while watching TV.
“Actually, I was watching a TV news, says Fanny Riedberger, and there was a mini clip from a documentary about a climb, which told a story of women in remission from cancer, they were climbing Monte Rosa, Italy. And it is an association that helps women to rebuild themselves, to regain confidence through sport, through the prowess of climbing. I said to myself that we could talk about cancer without being tearful and putassic, and that we could make a ‘dramedy’ of it, because these women were joyful, beautiful and full of humor.”
The Hikers, all episodes are already available on MYTF1. The next episodes are broadcast Monday, May 22, on TF1.
