“I have a lot of memories that go back to my mind. In 1992, (…) I sat on the Regional Council, and Jean-Claude Gaudin entrusted me with city policy and social affairs. It was always a unique encounters. It’s one of those characters that no longer exists in French politics.recalls European Deputy (RN) Thierry Mariani.
The National Rally deputy remembers a man “full of humor”, “full of kindness” but also “a political beast”. “It was Marseille above all for him. (…) He loved Marseille. When you saw him, he spoke to you about Marseille, its neighborhoods, its history. He is not an elected official who made a career in Marseille, as we often do today in a city, he is an elected official for whom it was his passion, his reason for living, and I think that his greatest mandate will remain for him to have been mayor of Marseille.explains Thierry Mariani.
