“It’s not my desire”, Laurent Berger closes the door to Matignon

Laurent Berger, former boss of the CFDT, guest of France 2’s “4 Vérités”, Monday June 24, indicated that he was not interested in a nomination to Matignon, in the event of victory of the New Popular Front in the legislative elections future. “This is not my desire“, before adding: “I will be very clear, I have made the choice to withdraw from public life”.

The former secretary general of the CFDT believes that the “first emergency” is to “avoid” a victory for the National Rally. “I am a citizen worried about the possible arrival of the National Rally in this country“, explains Laurent Berger. “The RN is the party of fear” and he “is not the solution“, he assures. Laurent Berger also calls for an end to the “caricature of two extremes and a central position“, directly targeting the presidential camp which focuses its campaign against “the extremes”, putting the RN and the New Popular Front back to back.
