We were all shocked, without reaction to something like this”reports a player to the sports newspaper.

Reached by the newspaper, the coach admitted having made these remarks. He explained that he wanted “dedramatize” so that his player is in “good conditions”while specifying that it “don’t endorse” Chetti’s gesture and regrets remarks “(taken) out of context”.

A Ligue 1 coach cannot express himself like this

The communication director of the SCO of Angers, Mohammed Sifaoui, tried to justify these remarks to AFP: “The remarks in question, appreciated in a decontextualized way, are unacceptable and reprehensible but analyzed in their context of pre-match chat, they are more of a clumsiness and a boorishness”.

Angers Town Hall Sports Deputy Charles Diers, a former club player, said: “A Ligue 1 coach cannot express himself like this. An educator cannot talk like that. A man should not say such things“. Angers are bottom of Ligue 1, with only 10 points on the clock.
