LR deputy Fabien Di Filippo recalls that Damien Abad was an opponent of Emmanuel Macron during his first five-year term. “He shared for five years very important fights with us for the defense of the territories and against the errors of the government“. Fabien Di Filippo is convinced that Damien Abad still does not adhere to the political line of the presidential majority.
LR deputy Fabien Di Filippo believes that this defection will not prevent the party from fulfilling its role as opponent of Emmanuel Macron. According to him, the departure of Damien Abad is “good news because the republican right will remain independent and it will rebuild itself on popular bases. And all this must be done in clarity“.
According to him, the Les Républicains party still has resources. “In our parliamentary group, which we said was deeply divided, we realize that in the end, where we were promised 60 departures, there are five deputies who leave and 100 who hold on. This is the first group to opposition and it is important to embody this alternative” he concluded.
