Breton music undoubtedly has its own festival: the Lorient Interceltic Festival. The 51st edition takes place from August 5 to 14, in the heart of Lorient. Shows, concerts, entertainment: the festival gets the city moving and highlights Breton culture.

Columnist on France Bleu and YouTuber, Evan Adelinet is a personality who is talking about in the region! This enthusiast has opened a blog, Evan de Bretagne, where he goes to meet Bretons and Bretons by bike. During a tour of the country of Lorient, he recorded nine videos to tell the life of local personalities and to discover unusual places.

Giving boat sails a second life

President and co-director of 727 Sailbags, Nicholas Veto brings boat sails back to life. His project ? Transform the sails that are no longer used to brave seas and oceans into luggage and handbags, ready-to-wear and decorative objects.

By reusing the material of the sails, the creators extend the life of these canvases and highlight a unique know-how that conveys a whole host of values.

It is the collected veils that serve as inspiration to create new objects. Sewing level, the machines are those used for sailboats!

Employment and environmental enhancement

Optim’ism is an association committed to environmental and social transition. It acts in Lorient and the surrounding area by setting up various projects, including support for farms. With the course “Fais Pousser Ton Emploi”, the association has trained future farmers to be recruited in order to develop farms.
